Description

Not looking at what else would be involved and not saying I would or would not do any of them. Just sticking to the core pieces in the following rumours:
-Kadri for Trouba
-Zaitsev+Kapanen for an RD from Carolina
-Brown for Picks
-Marleau elsewhere $0 retained
-Brassard looking for a "prove yourself" deal

Hyman and Dermott are on LTIR to start and would replace Marchment (take's Moore's spot who moves down) and Holl, respectively.

Strictly my opinion on RFA deals. Johnsson's is assuming a 1-year arbitration award.

The rumor is that Carolina and Toronto have connections. Not that this is the rumored trade. Lebrun simply stated that the hurricanes are looking for a top 6 winger and the leafs need a top 4 rd.

Nah, not misinterpreted.... Lebrun is an idiot. Most insiders are. They start with the facts that teams have been talking then add their wild speculation about what is being said. Add the two together and there you have it. A rumour is born.

The literal trade as it's been posted a gazillion times is not the rumor. The rumor is that Toronto and Carolina have been in talks for a top 6 winger-top 4d trade essentially. Not that the trade offered was zaitsev and kap for pesce/hamilton

And that makes sense. Toronto sending a guy like Kapanen or Johnsson to the Canes for one of their 4 NHL RHD players with picks tossed in for balance if needed would make sense from both teams perspective. I didn't get why sending Zaitsev to Carolina made any sense given their RHD depth and their owner flat out saying he wants offense.
