If they draft Turcotte he is committed to the NCAA this season, they won't resign Forsberg, probably finally ink Nalimov for 3 years, also no way Forsling signs that cheap of a deal he will get closer to 3 mil from someone.

Nalimov signed with KHL this year. Forsling $3M? LOL Unless he clones himself 2.5 times over.

Because thats the going rate for RFA with top 4 skills... the money you are talking about is given to bottom 6 forwards.

Also you have way too many D pairing on the team ... NHL rosters have 4 lines of forwards, 3 lines of D and a few players to sit in the press box. Forsling does not fit with the team any longer with all the young D we have coming through the system. Time to cut bait see if we can get a pick for his rights or package as a cherry in another deal.

And how do you think Forsling, a guy who can't stay in the lineup last year on a weak Defensive team, who's about to turn 23 is a top 4 player? There is a website that projects the signings of all RFAs and UFAs and they been extremely accurate the last few years. They have Forsling at $1.25M which is about right.

Fine even if I concede his contract amount it still does not negate the fact that he no longer fits on this team based on the players already signed and those prospects ready to join the team... so let's get past Forsling.

The article you quoting has a Question Mark at the end of the sentence. COULD????? and the answer is he CAN'T. The Athletic didn't need to write so many words on this topic, to justify their existence to paid customers.

The athletic is not the only media outlet writing about it. The point is that Nalimov has NOT committed to a team yet leaving the door open for the Hawks to see what he can do in the NHL.

I thought he recently committed to some KHL team, its possible that something didn't go thru. But regardless, even if he is still available, I think CHI should be paying more attention to Kevin Lankinen, he just shut down team Russia and allowed 1 goal against team Canada. I think he was like 1.5 GAA the whole turnament. I Know FIN had good team D, but still its impressive numbers and def worth a shot in NHL.
Maybe give Nalimov few games, in AHL, but the problem with Russians, most think their sh*t doesn't stink and they all want guarantee they will not be sent down to the AHL.
