Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Milano, Sonny [RFA Rights]
  2. 2020 5th round pick (CBJ)
Additional Details:
Milano hasn't proven anything. Needs a change of scenery. Columbus adds the 2020 5th due to the fact that Lias is a center and younger than Sonny. Plus he is still on a ELC, Sonny isn't.
CBJ
  1. Andersson, Lias
Additional Details:
Rangers have plethora of center men. Lias unless you look into moving Howden has no room to advance in my opinion. Plus he has a little bit of an attitude problem.
2.
NYR
  1. Callahan, Ryan
  2. 2019 1st round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Tampa needs to shed cap in order to resign Point. I think Tampa does this and Callahan waives his no trade in order to come back to New York. There is no room for him in Tampa.
TBL
  1. 2019 2nd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Obviously Rangers do this because they move up in the draft and also get veteran presence in a guy like Callahan. Hopefully he does waive his NTC.
3.
NYR
  1. 2020 6th round pick (SJS)
  2. 2021 7th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
In order to meet the cap floor, Ottawa needs to bring in guys with more salary.
OTT
  1. Day, Sean
  2. Smith, Brendan
Additional Details:
Brendan Smith needs to be moved so the Rangers can shed some of their bad contracts on defense. Ottawa wouldn't take Smith just for nothing (even though I am praying they do). Day should be the add in so that the Rangers can banish Smith. Day will have no room in this system to make an impact. If it is anywhere, it would be Ottawa I believe because their defense lacks. FYI Brendan Smith can also play wing. If need be.
4.
NYR
  1. 2019 1st round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Golden Knights take pics to move down in the draft to take Spencer Knight (the goaltender).
VGK
  1. 2019 1st round pick (WPG)
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Rangers trade these picks to move up in the draft so that they can take Seider (German Defenseman)
5.
NYR
  1. 2020 1st round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Dallas gives up their first in 2020 and gets their 3rd in 2020 back for resigning Mats Zuccarello
DAL
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Rangers get another first round pick
6.
NYR
  1. Tolvanen, Eeli
  2. 2020 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Predators give up their best forward prospect in order to get a power forward who can help them make a push for the cup maybe one last time.
Conditions- if Nashville wins the cup, the Rangers will receive a 2nd in 2020.
NSH
  1. Kreider, Chris
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Rangers trade Kreider to avoid negotiating with him in the UFA stage and get assets in return. Rangers add a second to this trade due to the fact that the Predators are giving up a top prospect and a first round pick.
7.

  1. 2019 3rd round pick (NYI)

I'm an idiot. Isn't he more of a winger? I know Capfriendly puts him at Center but I've seen him only play center for Russia in the world juniors. Although I could understand you converting him if Andersson is traded away. Either way, fair play.

Kravstov is a legitimate center rather than winger. He is better at wing though. I guess you swap Chytil and Kravstov if you want to.

I've seen this preds/rangers trade (or variations) thrown around a lot, and I'm not sure I would do it. I have difficulty giving up the best forward prospect in the preds system + a 1st round pick for a player who has never had more than 53 points in a season and is a UFA the following season (no guarantee of resigning). I like Kreider and think he could help the preds, but I don't know at that price. I don't want to lose the farm for potentially one year of a 20 goal scorer.

It's tough. That's not a bad trade - tolvanen and a 2nd that becomes a 1st if Kreider resigns. I feel that if we end up trading tolvanen and a 1st (ultimately) that we could get a player who would put up more points - like Hall or something. I just think the preds need a consistent 70+ point player as opposed to more 45-55 point players (even if they are good players). But if the preds get Duchene (rumors) and trade for Kreider, that would make them significantly better in the now. If there was a way to do it without giving up both the 1st AND Tolvanen, I think I would do it pretty easily

The colobus trade is awful. Lias is about 20 years old, granted he didn't have the best year. However, he did play a very well defensive game. Offensively he didn't perform as expected, but i think its stupid to trade his after one year. Additionally sonny milano has the worst work ethic and will never be an NHL regular i will promise you that.

Sonny is a flaky bust. Lias wants to win, has a positive attitude and should turn out to be what he was originally pegged as, an aggressive forchecker. His father was a good nhler, a leader, humble, popular, fast and coach friendly.
