I’m a ranger fan and I love that deal. But, could you explain the reasoning for it?? Why not trade him for a young defensive top 4 d or a veteran winger?

Personally with Spurgeon and Belepido i think there defense is pretty decent, and the Oilers could use a 3C, especially one with potential. I also think each prospect in the deal could use a new start

If the oilers ever trade 97 it would be for significant players who can step right into the team. Probably to a place like TO because you know they would overpay. Nylander+multiple 1sts + Sandin + Kadri. I dont ever see it happening

Yeah MN makes out like bandits in that deal. I'd do that in a heartbeat. I actually think the value isn't awful but other than Spurgeon there isn't a high-end piece. It takes a superstar to get a superstar.
