Not enough value going Ottawa's way. Gotta sweeten the pot.

Not one of these trades is balanced, but it's all over the map who it favours.

Danault and a 4th to Nashville for a late first rounder? Doesn't help the Habs in any way, now or later.
Alzner, Weal and a 3rd for a 6th? Might be reasonable, but Ottawa the last team that would make that trade.
Weise? No one wants Weise. The sixth-rounder would be going the other way.
Deslaurier? How is Weise worth a sixth and Deslaurier (younger, cheaper, better) only worth a 7th?
Drouin would get you a pretty good mid-first rounder. Petry would get you a first rounder and a good prospect. Even without the well-advertised cap pinch, Matheson would the fetch the Panthers the same as Petry -- a pick and a player. So if you're willing to trade Drouin for a couple of sloppy seconds and third picks, you're crazy. Sure, he drives the Antichambre guys bonkers, but he was still the Habs' third-best scorer.

I think is point was... Moving money away to 3 bid signature... at all cost!
So Call back Ottawa and offer Drouin with Alzner for a sloppy 2nd... they will say yes thank you.
For Matheson... send Petry, Reilly + Weise as they need a 2RHD and a bottom LHD.
Danault... can you please keep him and trade Shaw for Killington + 3rd in CGY.
you should have enough $ to keep Weal

Both Dreger and the French Newspaper Lavoie said that Erik Karlsson to either Ottawa or Montreal are false, But most fans can't read.

Neither of those two said it was false... both said that OTT and MTL won’t be the only teams Karlsson will be interested in. Lavoie then went on to say he doesn’t think MTL would be seriously interested in getting Karlsson, because he’s not a LD. Imo both were just giving their opinions on the subject and don’t have any actual insider info yet.
