I like this but if the Kings buy out LD phanuef, they would maybe keep Forbort. Maybe then Nisky for Martinez but that would only free up 1.75 mil not enough to get Johanssen. In that case we could maybe sign Panik or Donskoi. Hope GMBM works some magic this summer.

I like It. Need a 23rd player and not enough add 1. Maybe reduce salaries of Vrana to 4.5, Djoos to 1.25 and free up 500k to add a 800k player to finish roster. Or Vrana 4.6 and Djoos 1.35 only need to free up 700k for Gersich.

I'd be surprised if Djoos gets 1.5M, or even 1.25M. He's an RFA coming off of his ELC, so he doesn't have a ton of leverage. Vrana is a different story because he was one of our top contributors offensively. I think if Vrana gets 4.75M, he's getting a 5-6 year deal, not a 3 year deal. Also, the Caps don't necessarily need to carry a 23rd player - they hadn't really done it before this season.

I just don't see the Caps bringing MoJo back. I know it's a popular theory, but paying that much for a 3rd liner who you have already seen is not best utilized playing a 3rd line role for years doesn't make sense when you take into account the next couple offseasons. If he took a pay cut to $3mil, that might work, but he wouldn't and shouldn't.
