I doubt NSH makes that trade. Turris, although a down year, still is much more valuable than Neilsen. Also, this trade doesn’t alleviate enough cap space to sign Duchane

Tampa isn't giving up Foote for taking Callahan's contract. They can buy him out $2.7M yr 1 and $1.6M yr 2.

It would be really nice if they would.

No, they really can't. That 2nd year of the buyout is the huge problem. They are up against the cap now and next season will be worse if Point is extended b/c Vasilevskiy, Cernak, Sergachev, Joseph, and Cirelli will require significant raises (and probably Volkov too).

But probably not going to let Foote go. They need decent cheap d-men to balance the cap hits of those forwards.

Buying out Callahan is only $6OOK more than taking Daley as payment for Callahan.

The Wings would retain salary if they moved Daley. That's how he becomes a cheap d-man.

And the buyout isn't just one year...that's the problem for Tampa. That 2nd year is still going to be a cap crunch (unless they don't sign Point).

Yeah the $600K is with the Wings retaining $1M if Detroit didn't retain any of Daley's salary the buyout would would be $500,000 cheaper The buyout is for 2 years like I said above and the second year his cap hit after buyout is $1.6M.
