Amazing how in only two years Mcphee was able to:

1) Assemble such a good team.
2) Put his team in such a cap crunch.

Will be an interesting offseason.

They kind of painted themselves into a corner with Stastny, then Patches then Stone. Still, it's a good problem to have.

agreed. Similar situation to the Leafs, Tampa, San Jose, etc. Good teams are tight against the cap, hence why they're good.

Come on, be realistic. A team isn’t retaining 50% on a player making 1.15 million to lower his cap hit to 575,000. That hasn’t happened and won’t happen.

Unless the team was one built by Tim Murray. A terrible defense, $11,000,000 dead cap with Moulson and Okposo, Zero secondary scoring. I cannot imagine how he could have done worst job. I sometimes wonder if he was hired by LaFontaine, to make the Sabres bad.
