Interesting trade, I like it. Groulx is projecting to be a decent 2 way forward. Silf could get 20g on COL, but that's a could and not likely a guarantee. We're moving up from 16th to 9th overall and getting another 2nd rounder next year (likely conditional on Barrie re-signing.) It goes against what Sakic has been saying about trading Barrie would have to be a "Hockey Trade." Meaning he's probably looking for less picks and prospects and likely a better Top 6 forward than Silfverberg.

I am not a huge fan of the signings here. Johansson, I do not want the Avs to sign him for more than 5mil, and more than 2 years. He is starting to age and has an injury history. Martin is NOT an NHL ready goalie and I don't think he ever will be. Francouz is leaps and bounds a head of him and could be a deent NHL backup. Engelland is old and slow, I don't want him on the Avs. That Zad signing is on the low end of what I believe he would command. I am thinking he asks for what Cole is making but I've seen 3.8 and 3.9 on ACGM a bit though. Nieto > Kamenev right now, and is not worthy of being scratched. I am not sure how badly I'd want Dzingel and I doubt he signs for that low (probably minimum 4.5), but if he did, I could be happy with it. Kerfoot I think signs for a few 100k more and is better than being on the 4th line. I think you could get Compher for a couple 100k less but this is just the small stuff. Overall it's not too shabby.

I dont think a hockey trade makes sense for Barrie unless we are willing to go for an impending UFA or we are into older forwards. I think we could get much more value through a package like this. I think moving up in the draft puts us in a great position to take Krebs or Boldy etc. Silfverberg is a very solid two way forward who is signed for 5 years. He also scored 24 goals in 73 games last season so he is very capable of putting up solid offense. I dont think its fair to say hes not a top 6 guy.

You cant sign a UFA of Johanssons calibre for 2 years. Just watching him these playoffs makes me think he would be a great fit and is a bit of an off the radar option for us at 2C if Hayes is gone. I accidentally forgot to make Francouz the backup when I re-signed Martin. Engelland is super underrated, the guy play an average of 23 minutes for Vegas in the playoffs. Hes rock solid on the PK and could be an awesome/cheap pickup for us.

If Kerfoot wants more than 3.5 Id literally trade him. I do not value him on this team beyond that. and yea ur probably right that Z will get more than what I posted. But I dont think its crazy.

I doubt Dzingel gets 4.5 especially when he was a healthy scratch for CBJ and was only able to produce in Ottawa when he was the go to guy.

Unlikely, but of all the Avs core players hes by far the most likely to get traded.
