If they know that they can't sign Trouba, getting Petry Byron a top 9-6 guys and 2 good draft picks is a pretty good trade

Considering the demand for right hand defenseman I think Winnipeg will be receiving better offers.

The same can be said for Ottawa. They are seen as a dumping grounds for bad contracts but they can only take so many. With so many teams looking to shed those contracts, I think you’ll have to do better than that.

Trouba has been fairly adamant about going back to the U.S. to play. Not sure the Habs would go after him in a trade if it's unlikely they can sign him long-term.

Duchene will get 7 x 8.5 if not closer to the Skinner deal. And no way is Trouba leaving Winnipeg for Montreal. Trouba doesn't want Canada not hard to figure out.
