Trades
1.
DET
  1. Larkin, Colin [RFA Rights]
  2. Puljujärvi, Jesse [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Yzerrman takes a chance on the former 1st round pick that has been very underwhelming. Adding Dylan Larkin's brother into the mix brings joy to the new Captain of the Wings.
EDM
  1. Frk, Martin [RFA Rights]
  2. Helm, Darren ($1,850,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Holland making a statement bringing in speed with Helm that can play up and down the lineup, as well as a steadying veteran influence in the locker room that is sorely needed. Adding the rights to Frk with his booming shot may help the struggling power play at a very minimal cost.
2.
DET
  1. Laine, Patrik [RFA Rights]
  2. Trouba, Jacob [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
From a DRW fan perspective, this would be a miracle for Yzerman to pull off. Getting two young RFA studs in Laine and Trouba significantly upgrades the roster, but at a significant cost. Basically this trade is Laine for AA, a 1st & 2nd, and Trouba for Cholowski and two 2nds.
WPG
  1. Athanasiou, Andreas
  2. Cholowski, Dennis
  3. 2019 2nd round pick (SJS)
  4. 2019 2nd round pick (NYI)
  5. 2020 2nd round pick (WSH)
  6. 2021 1st round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
With negotiations going no where for these two RFAs wanting out of WPG, they make a controversial trade to get a young proven scorer, a young NHL ready puck moving defenseman, restock draft picks lost, and free up significant cap space.
3.
DET
  1. Callahan, Ryan
  2. 2019 1st round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Yzerman leverages TB's need for cap space to get a late 1st round pick for taking on Callahan's salary.
TBL
  1. 2019 3rd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
TB needs to free up cap space to sign Point, and this is probably the best offer they get.

Not enough for Laine, would need the Wings 2019 1st for it to even be considered.

Why would Edmonton even bother with that trade, there's nothing there for them.

The Tampa one is possible I guess.

If you're taking a chance on Puljujarvi you put him on the same line as Laine. They played together for years in Finland.
Something missing in those trades though.

Your premise is wrong about the Jets negotiations going nowhere. Trouba wants to be a UFA in a year, so it's not like they are at loggerheads. It's gong to be a one year deal if he stays in Winnipeg.
Laine...most other high profile RFAs aren't signed either. Either way he is under Jets control for four years.
But Jets shouldn't dismiss the trade. Trouba is a rental to the Jets...getting Chihowski who has shown signs of being a good NHLer. Getting AA and those picks for Laine...similar to a offer sheet. Gets the Jets the needed cap space and AA did score 30 goals last season.

Sorry, but your trades are all off. Callahan still has value and with only one year left, they’re not giving up a first just to clear space. Maybe if Det added it’s 2nd pick that would work, basically the same thing we did with Datsyuks contract a few years ago. Likewise, Edm is not giving up on Puj, he still has first rd value. I can see them bundling Puj, Russel, and a pick to land Zucker maybe. I like Helm to Edm, but more like Helm w/retained salary for a late 2nd early 3rd rd pick.
