I think that you're undervaluing Kadri. Scott Mayfield and the first is more like it; Toronto could be talked into adding this year's third and fourth to fill out Lou's dance card. Mayfield is available because you have Dobson and Wilde in the system.

Kadri isn't really a player you move for the sake of making caproom. His contract is great.

I don't think you understand that TOR has their backs against the wall. They need cap to sign their guys. I think Kadri has ran himself outta town in TOR with the penalties in the playoffs. Lou has the upper hand here. TOR doesn't have a first and a right shot Dman like wotherspoon is something they can use without taking salary back. Very similar to leddy when isles snagged him from CHI. Prospect and a first gets it done

Kadri has taken dumb penalties year after year and you can tell the organization and the fans are frustrated. He would get more ice time with isles as later in the season he would be in the bench. He is a guy you move if they want to retain their other players. He brings back a good return without taking money back.

Also Mayfield is not available for those reasons lol those two aren't ready dobson next year wilde year after that. Stop with that already. LHD is the strength here which is why leddy / toews/ pelech should be available with the readiness of 2 time ahl all star Sébastien aho

Over the last 5 years he's taken 101 penalties and drawn 147. Over those eyears he was +22, +19, -8, +8, +5. He's a net positive in terms of penalties. Yeah sure people are frustrated with the suspensions, but it doesn't mean he's out for good. I imagine they'll look at trade options, as you do with any player, and this trade is not what I'd call a great return for him to be honest.

Obviously they are going to look at trade options they have to... Something that you don't understand is THEY HAVE TO MAKE ROOM. During those situations those teams don't "win" the trade. Their backs are against the wall here. Keep Kadri? OK then lose their young RFA's and Gardiner as well.

You'e trying to argue intelligently with a young punk who has 16 posts and no likes to his credit., and without any insight into what you know, says "Something that you don't understand is they have to make room." You are literally fighting a battle of wits with an unarmed child who has never created a Toronto team roster.

As a professional in the field, I predict that “I don’t think you understand that Toronto has their backs against the wall” is the funniest thing you’ll ever say on CapFriendly. Too bad you’re peaking so early.

I see from your Profile that you’ve never posted a Toronto team projection. Therefore, by definition, you have absolutely no idea what Toronto’s cap situation is. Meanwhile, in the last 6 months alone, I have posted 28 such efforts, each one analyzing Toronto’s cap problems. Even if every single one of them contained one or more foolish errors, the a priori expectation is that I would have learned more from fellow Toronto supporters’ comments about Toronto’s cap problems than you will ever know.

Finally, it is a typical mistake of newcomers like you to assume that just because a team like Las Vegas, Tampa Bay or Toronto has a cap concern, its panic-stricken GM will be stampeded into a poor hockey trade just prior to changing into dry pants. Kadri for a B-prospect plus a first is just such a ridiculous trade. Kadri is not on an expiring contract and he is a top-6 center on any team that doesn’t already have two. As such, his proper value, as established by comparable trades, is a roster player plus a first-round pick. My proposal of a back-quarter first plus a bottom-pairing defenseman for Kadri is, if anything, generous to the team I grew up watching win 19 consecutive Stanley Cup playoff series.

“Stop with that already”? Did I read that right? You have the puerile effrontery to say “Stop with that already”? You have a lot to learn about how to address your elders, both on CapFriendly and out in the world at large. But of course, since you obviously know it all, you won’t learn a thing.

LOL what does having to do a roster on TOR mean about not knowing their cap situation? Newsflash "Oldman" anyone can look up teams cap situation. And you think I give a damn that I have "no likes"?? You don't like my team? Don't comment simple as that moron. When Kadri gets traded for less expect another comment from me saying who's the expert now. "as a professional in the field" yeaaa ok guy
