Description
I just realized Connor was drafted as a C. I know he’s done well on the wing, but does he have enough of a 2 way game to move to the middle? He could work on faceoffs all summer and be ready for fall. Thoughts?

He does seem like he might have it in him to pull it off, so can Roslovic though if they'd just develop him properly. They need a new coach more then they need a 2C.

That’s fair. But sounds like Roslovic is out already. And didn’t they just extend Maurice?

A lot of players were drafted as centres that won't see time as a centre in the NHL. That's more because in junior coaches play their best players at centre because they make the other players better. Just because their drafted as a centre doesn't mean they should be one. I don't see Connor as a real good centre but I see him as a future elite winger. He might be a decent 3C but he'll be a 1LW if you keep him on the wing.

For reference, JVR was drafted as a centre. Leafs tried him there for like 2 games and he was brutal.
toque liked this.

Not sure but if they did they're effed for a while then.
Seriously don't see them doing anything more then a 2nd round appearance at best while he's their coach.

I'd rather keep Connor on the wing. I think he can be an elite winger, but not an elite centre. Keep him where his ceiling will be maximized. Creative idea though

This could be something worth giving a try, but I don't see it happening given how much the Jets like having him play with Scheifele and Wheeler
