"Ghost value seems lower than I expect".

Based on what? Other Habs fans AGM's? rolling eyes

I should rephrase: Philly fans think Shaw and Byron are way worse than they actually are. Some Habs fans have them way higher than they should be however.

I don't know how you went from what people are speculating Byron+Shaw+ for Ghost. But Shaw Kulak and a 3rd is worse IMO. Shaw and Byron + a pick is way better value.

Have heard the #flyers and #Habs have had discussions on Shayne Gostisbehere. While no deal is imminent, told Andrew Shaw is a player the Flyers have interest in

I added something to my previous post. That should help explain what I meant,

I never talked about Byron!!

Taking back MacDonald does help even out the trade value a bit.

I phrased the original post poorly, that's why. Its looking like people are taking the Shaw+Ghost rumour and starting at the far left of the spectrum.

A Shaw for Ghost rumour is more than likely Shaw+ for Ghost. The + makes all the difference. If Kulak and a 3rd are the "+". That doesn't seem like much IMO. The other trades people have mentioned at least had Byron included also. That at least makes more sense even though IMO I don't see that happening.

I think that if Ghost and Shaw are at the heart of a trade, it's the Habs that add. I would suggest a prospect and the better of our two second rounders.
Shaw has some value, Ghost has more. Habs need to make a trade like this, Philly is likely less pressured.

A package might well be Shaw, 2nd round pick 2019, non top 5 prospect (top 5 being Suzuki, Poehling, Romanov, Primeau, Brook). I would also be willing to look at 2020 picks depending on how well Shaw plays (60 games plus and 15 goals plus) and the Habs don't give up a 2020 3rd. So call it Shaw, 46 OA, Cale Fleury or Jake Evans, and a 2020 pick.

I had understood the rumour to be Shaw or Bryon, not both, for the record. If the Flyers want both, then our best second round pick would be appropriate.
