Girard is a good Dman but the Wings have had a lot trouble scoring before this year. The amount of offense AA generates just out weighs Girard. Plus if Yzerman doesn't want to use AA to get Trouba why would he for Girard. With Kronwall looking like he will be back to play 1000 games that gives Detroit 6 D that aren't waivers exempt and 2 possibly 3 D in GR that should be playing that should be on Detroit's playing roster. So any trade of D to Detroit would have to have Daley or Ericsson going the other way. But it would probably be Daley because of some kind of strange loyalty to Ericsson.

Yep. COL won't trade Girard for sure. Byram is the almost unanimous choice to go out at 4th OA. I doubt he'll go 3rd to Blackhawks. If COL passes, Sakic has to trade down and cash his 4th OA. Byram would be a perfect fit for LA Kings.

Kings would have to offer to trade their 5th up. If Sakic offers to trade his 4th down, the Kings will probably pick up on that and realize Byram will fall to them. Will that happen? I don't know. Blake and Sakic have won a cup together so there's history there, and that could make things interesting.
