No question that Trouba is better than Severson (on a really good contract), but he isnt a 1st, 2nd and Mcloud better

I think any offers between us will have to start with Severson and a first round pick and we build from there but I would be interested to see what we could build around Trouba and Perrault. Something like Severson, 2020 first, 2019 second (or 3rd and Bratt).

Completely agree on your description of McLeod – that's still too much for Trouba.

I agree about McLeod, would rather it be Zacha and see if he gets it together with the Jets and really Zacha is likely never getting ahead of Hughes or Hischier anyway.

I’m a die hard Jets fan and the reality is Trouba is most likely just a one year rental cuz he wants free agency so bad. With that in mind I think that takes the Devils out of the running since they’re rebuilding. Unless of course they want to impress Hall and be able to get the puck out of their zone and into Hughes hands more often for his development. So I think Severson or Zacha straight up (just one) would be the best the Jets could hope for. Having said that I think any team going for it next year would be a better match.

That's not how a negotiation works if you're "starting with Severson and a 1st". You work backwards from there.

I agree that Trouba is better or more valuable than severson... but a 1st 2nd and McLeod is way to much... if anything I would only do Trouba for Severson and a 2nd. Personally I think the swap is pointless for the devils. They can only add to the d core.
