I am ok with Turris, however he will not cost even close to that! He could most likely be had for a 3rd by itself or a 2nd. no need to shuffle prospects for him. Nashville needs to dump salary! And his point total last season is not good!

We do not give away our two solid prospects and the second round for Turris, he does not have much value with his contract and last season.

Giving up anything more than a third is an overpay for turris. Also not trading nylander for Zucker.

In a season with two foot/ankle injuries, he had a bad season. But that is one bad season amongst 5 good/great beforehand. So I think a 3rd is low. He still has value to a lot of teams. If that is all they can get, I'm more than happy to have another year or more with Turris on the preds.

Just last year he was traded for Girard, Kamenev, and a 2nd. I understand that this was a major overpayment but I believe that the market could increase his price. I originally had him for the 2020 2nd and Victor Olofsson but I felt like that wasn't enough.
villenash liked this.

65 points (20 goals) in 120 games since being in Nashville isn't worth the risk of his 6 mil cap hit for the next five years, killing his value.

No chance, Buffalo will give anything of value for Turris. There may be a second or third round maximum. You even probably do not really understand the prospects for Buffalo, because Olofsson and the second are better than Thompson, Davidsson and second. Nobody wants to take a guy with such a contract after he broke his ankle twice and at his age, of course he had a good world championship, but this is a short distance, and no one knows how he will play further in the NHL. I would not want to get a second Kyle Okposo with a contract of 6 million.

Yes, you're including the injury season which will of course skew it. I agree he had a bad season last year, but he played and produced perfectly well the season we traded for him: 42 points in 65 games for the preds. I agree it's a risk, but at the same time, he was injured most of last season and played like it - so his point totals reflected that. He wasn't injured the year prior and he was much better. I just don't think one injury-filled (recoverable) season makes someone's trade value fall thaaaaaat much - it will likely fall some, but less than I typically see on ACM.

Concussions are much worse than breaking a foot. I hope he fully recovers and is able to continue playing at a high level. I like him as a player, but concussions suck - they can really change a person. It's tough to compare concussions to a broken bones. I think if Okposo turns back into the 45-50 point player that he has been in Buffalo then the contract isn't that bad (still not great). People are getting paid the same (like Brock Nelson recently) for similar production. It's still a high contract, but if he recovers from his concussion issues, I think he still has value. And I'm not saying Turris has a ton of value, just more than one 3rd round pick.
