Gourde Gotta Go Small trades w MTL PHIL and NYR to open up cap space

Description
I like Gourde but at least two of our 5 million men must go. Gourde NTC begins on 7/1.

Sign Coburn and Stralman to one year team friendly terms. It gives Sergachev, Cernack and Foote one more year to mature. They better be ready next year or we have big problems on defense.

Boston proved you do not need to be the biggest team to have grit. Bring up the kids, they all have size.

Cirelli deserves more minutes, move Stamkos to the wing first line and give Miller a fair chance of second line minutes.

The story we heard is Philly tried to sneak him through waivers and wanted him in the system. Small price to get him back. He played well in a limited role fourth line.

Stralman must go. No way he's worth even half of that cap hit anymore.

Yes. He is a good AHL player and would be fine on the phantoms. If you get him through waivers I’ll give you a 7th.

He has been very good last year there were injuries I am sure the bolts know better but I'd give him a one year shot. He has to be better than Girardi and he was serviceable.

Ship has sailed on Stralman .. Colburn MAYBE if needed for 7D .. him and Rutta and Foote can rotate on 3rd pair or 5/6 D although I prefer we trade for a #2RD and no Colburn.

Alot of your explanation is spot on with kids trading the middle the Bruins etc.. other than Rask there is ONE reason the Bruins are winning.. their 3rd and 4th line .. it scary.. bring a college player up and boom energy and a goal .. Cirellli and Miller should be 2a and 2B at center.. Stamkos in back nine of career and move to wing makes sense if no trade for now .. but at least 2 of middle needs to be purged and replaced by energy grit ..

We agree for the most part. I too would like to see a new #2 RD but it would be expensive both in salary and assets. My list Trouba, Faulk, Dumba maybe Ristoainen or Collin Miller. My post was just an alternative that is short term and affordable. Stralman I think someone will overpay and give him a three year contract.

Ok to "overpay" for right deal and right person for #2 RD .. let someone else pay Stralman .. need 6 to 8 new faces this year .. if not forget playoff run
