Trade Perry because I guess he needs to go apparently. I am not quite sure who to trade Perry to, but the Jackets are very under the cap and most likely will not have Bob or Bread Man returning so they'll need some salary and Perry for two years will be ok on the 3rd line for them I think. The Andrew Peeke dude may be too valuable, but I do not know the Jackets farm system that well and they do not have picks to take in return. Trade Sprong because he has value and was also in and out of the lineup alot. I picked the Avs becuase they'll have already taken a very good player with 4th OA pick and are also on the upswing of their rebuild and could use more developed talent rather than waiting for prospects. Sprong will be a good depth scoring option for them which if I remember correctly they have approximately none of. Sign Karlsson so we can have the Swedish Connection on defense. Draft Caulfield because the Ducks need his pure goal scoring talent, there's a chance he may fall to 9 but I also think he may get taken earlier than 9 as well. If we cannot have Caufield, Boldy would be just fine as well (although I am still sour on college free agents). Draft Moritz Seider becuase we will eventually want a right side defenseman once Manson leaves and we don't resign him (please), and Seider fits the bill. Draft Pelletier because he can bring very high level playmaking and speed to the wing.

I can tell you right now what is never going to happen. CBJ taking Perry. Forget that. Don't know where you came up with that idea. But you can just forget it.

No team is gonna take on that terrible Perry contract. Not gonna happen. Just buy him out. Not to mention the fact that Perry has a NMC.

If we retain half is it still a non-starter? I think Perry still has value and at half the cost and trade him after his signing bonus comes through and I think almost any team would think about it. Especially a team that is currently $10 mil under the cap for next year.

I thought it had been fairly known for the last few days now that BOTH the Ducks and Perry are willing to move on from each other. I would hope that for Perry if it came down to waiving his NMC or being bought out, he would choose waiving his NMC. Especially to play for the Jackets.

just because CBJ has cap space doesn't mean they are spending it. They are a low cap team because they don't make any money.
Much like teams like AZ and Ottawa. Don't go looking for them to spend to the limit just because they can.
Furthermore where does he fit on that team? They are one of the youngest teams in the league who already has veteran leadership and they are stacked talent wise. If they are going to spend cap space it's not on Perry. It's to make another cup run.

As a wings fan I'll accept a 2019 2nd and a 2020 3rd for Perry at 25% retained instead of 50%.

Price for taking Callys 1x5.8m is late first/good forward prospect plus. Price for taking Perry even at half 2x4.3m, as a healthy scratch, would cost much more. His buy out is massive also, plus it's a nmc, he can't be buried.
