If this happens, Montreal will have 3 players overpaid in their 30s: Price, Weber, and Duchene. I say no. Leave the money for Domi, Gallagher, Suzuki, and Poehling.

Philly counters with Hartman and Laughton plus pascal laberge for Jeff Petry.

Two third line players and a mid-tier prospect for a man that would slot in to the top pair.

There’s no truth to the rumors on the Philly side. It’s all speculation from some idiot writer looking for attention.

The whole Shaw/Byron to Philly does make sense but it wont be both of them and if it's for Ghost it will include a good prospect or pick. Dont think Philly takes both players on with thier salary and taking up more roster spots

I can’t believe some Habs fans actually believe this brutal rumour. If Habs want ghost it’s gonna cost drouin

Guys, the way I understood the rumor, Shaw and/or Byron would be a part of a deal to bring Ghos, not THE exact deal
For exemple : Shaw, Julsenn and a 2nd (I'm not saying I would do it, but it making more sense)

If Ghost is moved it’s for an upgrade on defense ie Trouba, Spurgeon etc or for an impact forward. Drouin would be my target from the Habs.

There’s no truth to the rumor from the Philly side. The names being mentioned didn’t come from Philly. Montréal can offer Shaw if they wish. Doesn’t mean we want him.

It's gonna cost a 1st rounder in 2019 plus more, assuming that Philly deals their own 1st rounder to upgrade their roster elsewhere.

Fletcher has implied if Ghost is moved it’s for a different type of defender......shut down/2way. That’s basically all that’s been implied or mentioned from Phillys end.

So you are comparing 2 players that in the past 3 years scored on average 0.277 points/game on Philly's side, to 2 players that scored 0.511 points per game for the same period..
I guess you're either really bad at maths, stupid, or close minded.

And both of the flyers forwards are younger/cheaper RFAs... just as Petry has never scored at the level of ghost and is his mid 30s.

The sad part is that my deal makes more sense for the habs than the original deal makes for the Flyers. Don’t forget that Shaw has one good year in MTL and has never played a full 82.

Challenge: put together the flyers forwards line combos after the original offer and defend the move.
