Nashville says no. Not desperate enough to trade him for that and not retaining that much if they do.

While I agree the deal isn't close if the rumors are true that they are pushing hard for Duchene they HAVE to move Turris

Not necessarily - they could get it done by moving other pieces. I prefer to move someone like Bonino who has higher value after a great season as opposed to Turris who has lower value right now. And then he hopefully has a better season next year, and you trade him then.

The main problem with this roster is you're in cap hell going forward. How are you going to give Reinhart and Montour new deals after this season with only Bogosian and Wilson coming off the books? Reinhart, Montour, Mittelstadt, Olofsson, Nelson, and Pilut will all need new deals and you will have about $17,200,000 in cap space (maybe $20 million if the cap goes up another $3 million) Reinhart is going to get at least $7 of it and Montour will get at least another $5 of it. So you're left with $8 million in cap space to sign your 4 RFA's that will likely eat around $5.5 million total, so you have $2.5 million in cap space but the next season Dahlin is due...even if the cap goes up another $3 million you only have $10 million in cap to work with as Perreault is coming off the books. Dahlin is going to get close to all of that if he is as good as advertised.

You didn't leave enough cap space to make any moves during the season and it's a very bleak outlook long term

I do not want to see Turris with his contract and Nashville certainly will not keep his salary, it does not make sense to them.

LeBrun said that we kicked the tires on Zucker, but there were no rumors about Turris, that is, LeBrun simply cited Turris as an example as a possible option.

Bonino only has 2 years left though, moving Turris frees up more cap long term

I agree the cap looks like hell but all good teams go through cap hell. You forgot they will have expansion draft which will take player and contract and maybe pay to get rid of okposo. We have enough cap room to get though next year without moving big player. When dahlin needs to get paid we should 2019 top pick ready to play and hopefully couple other propects ready to make the jump. Which would allow us to trade McCabe, zucker, turris and other players to make the cap. Just like Tampa is doing now.

But trading him after this coming season would free it up as well (and when we would need it more). I just think if you give him another year on the Preds, he will bring his value up and then you trade him after that season for something that more closely resembles his actual value. I don't like selling low on players - especially players that cost the Preds some very good assets to acquire in the first place. I think my opinion would be different if he was a free agent signing, but for what the Preds gave up, you gotta see if he can turn it around.

Okposo has a modified NTC...getting rid of him is going to be VERY difficult. It all depends on his list any my guess the teams he would take a trade do either don't have the cap space or wouldn't want him

If Nashville retains on turris, they’d be better off trading bonino or smith. Also not fair to say turris hasn’t worked out in Nashville, he’s gotten 65 points in 120 games. Little subpar for the money but held back by an injury riddled year
