Hear me out. Yes James Neal is slow but look how well he did in Vegas playing with guys who got up the ice in a hurry. I think both Horvat and Virtanen would be ideal linemates for him.
Trade could have Vancouver adding a bit but I don't think that much.

Lucic deal gives Edmonton a much better winger that could slot in with either McDavid or Drai. Yes they fall back spots in the draft but they are getting rid of that dreaded contract.

Both deals benefit both clubs clearing up space for Cgy to sign Tkachuk and clearing up space for EDM to bring in another couple pieces for McDavid.

With this line up and the cap space freed up in OTT trade (On ice money as opposed to LTIR payments) that benefits both teams. Canucks could possibly take a big crack at an RFA offer sheet. Say Connor, Kapanen or Karlsson
