Helping a few teams out with cap issues

Created by: rednwhite
Team: 2019-20 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 13, 2019
Published: Jun. 13, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wings add Perry. The Ducks want to move him, he wants to be closer to London, Ontario where he just bought a home. Detroit is less then 2 hours from London. He gets to play out the final years of his deal close to home, maybe gets dealt at 2021 deadline if he has any value left for a run at another cup. Buyout could happen after year 1 if the Wings feel they need the cap room to sign some UFA/RFA.

Vegas needs cap room to sign William Karlsson. They are shopping Miller and Detroit takes Clarkson as well. Vegas gets a cheap 5/6 defenceman back and move down a few spots in the draft (late 3rd for early 4th).

The Kulikov deal helps both teams, Winnipeg needs cap room and doesn't really have a spot for Kulikov. They have a few young defence who will push for minutes at a cheaper price. Wings add another 2nd and have the chance to flip Kulikov at the 2020 deadline.

Let me know what you think! ( I avoided the Callahan trade as it is in every AGM right now but could happen as well).

Also obviously Wings will not make this many moves, no team ever trades this much in the offseason but I could see Stevie doing a few things to shake up the roster and set up for a playoff run in 20-21.

Anaheim wouldn't do this. They want to sell Perry not dump him! If they can't get any asset from him, they'll just buy him out. They don't really need cap space, they want to get younger.
The two other trades makes sense!

I am not sure Perry has much value to many teams at that cap hit. I guess Anaheim could retain to move him, I am not too familiar with the Ducks cap situation. Regardless I can't see them getting very much for him at that price with the type of season he just had. I agree a late first is maybe a little too much to trade with him but Detroit seems like an ideal spot in my mind.

Vegas doesn't want your help. We can LTIR Clarkson ourselves. No need to give away Miller. If you want Miller it will cost you a 2nd and a mid level prospect or a 3rd with a high level prospect.
