I'm still not sold on the Eaves deal....I know it's been talked about for awhile. Either way Marleau is 6.25m cap hit to Ducks...who might want that space on productive player. But apparently the actual cash difference isn't all that much which the Ducks would OK with. Still I think the Leafs would have to add a sweetener if the Ducks are OK with the Marleau cap.

But you're right if the Leafs can trade Marleau then it's just one more trade...Brown to be cap compliant. Like this a lot better than trading five guys and trying to find five NHL replacements.
Leafs aren't as last year without Gardiner, Hainsey, Marleau and Brown. But the team you made might be about the best can be for 2019/20,

Marleau cap hit to ducks would be 6.25 but after bonuses this deal should be done after july 1st to avoid having to sweeten it. Ducks would then still have the cap hit but would only be paying Marleau 1.25 of his annual AAV as that is how the contract was structured
