Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 13, 2019
Published: Jun. 13, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Buying out Backes this season provides only 333,333 off his cap hit. Next offseason a buyout makes much more sense. If need be, he doesn't have a NMC so can be waived to clear up ~1 million in cap. Don't think it's worth giving up picks or prospects to dump his contract either

Boston should try to resign Johannsen. He had great chemistry with Coyle. Dump Heinen in a trade and use Bjork instead

Don't think Boston can afford to re-sign him. That Chara contract is basically worth 4 million, his performance bonuses are relatively easy to hit (one is 10 games played)

Financially I agree with you. Johannsen isn't going to be cheap to keep. But if you move Heinen and to be honest I do think Moore's contract is movable as well. Why not give Zboril the chance to be the 7th d? Zboril has an edge to his game and is decent sized. Might as well try to breed him
