Ask and calling in to check on a player do not equal acquiring 5 x 4.5M for a player with metrics that keep regressing each year. The sweetener has to be salary retention or high draft picks.

You don't understand. When I say calling, I mean as in there is considerable interest has been reported, not just checking in like was reported a few weeks ago. Specifically from Vancouver and Edmonton.

Remember, not all teams use metrics (Edmonton is one we know for sure that doesn't use them).

Vancouver is not trading Stecher for Zaitsev.

Bull**** that's even, Stecher is the canucks best RHD plus he's young and a Vancouver boy. Baertschi is a top 6 forward when healthy. Zaitsev is garbage and johnsson isn't anything without his toronto linemates nor is he worth it. Look at his age.

Canucks gladly keep Stecher and Baertschi. Stecher will not move Benning said.
