Philly would never accept this. Petry and Tatar are both aging guys on big contracts. Ghost is a young, dynamic offensive defenseman in his prime. The 11th overall pick is extremely valuable. Even though Petry and Tatar had good seasons, the Flyers would be buying high on two guys that are bound to decline.

Remove the second round pick. And make a 1st round pick swap an add Ratcliffe.

Age is a factor. 11th overall has more value.

It's not an awful trade for Philadelphia but the Habs should definitely add to get Ghost and 11thOA.

11th overall could Bust. No guarantees.

Fact is, Petry is underrated league wide. He is a #1 defensemen who gets labelled as a #3 at best by most fanbases. You have to give something to get something. This trade has value going both ways.

Big contracts? Both guys have 2 years left, Tatar a perennial 20 goal scorer @4.8 and Petry a top 4 D @5.5. Although that may be a big contract for the Sens, for the rest of the league it's considered good value.

Giroux is aging, they want to win now. Adding prime experienced players to the mix makes sense.

exactly, 2 years left. You're sending the 11th overall and Ghost who has term on a good contract for 2 guys with 2 years left before UFA. Tatar would be playing on the 3rd line in Philly. Petry would be a top 4 Dman. But for how much longer?

The guys have 2 years left on their contracts. That's a big price to pay for two maybes.

Petry will play on the 1st pairing wth ? He’s better than Gostisbehere right now, yes older, but they got 2 good years of Petry. Tatar is better than JVR Lindblom get out of here. He can play both wings too. Man your a Sens fans, everybody are sayin the trade is fair exept you...

LOL, Petry does not hold more value than Ghost. That's some biased stuff right there. & you did not just say that Tomas Tatar is better than JVR.. It's clear you're biased so no need to argue with you.

* You're btw

Guess it's just opinions. Ghost still put up 64 points just 2 years ago and is a dynamic defenseman. Petry is a good player but has never been great in his own end imo. Don't expect another 40 point season from him.

He’ll do it again this year. I hated Petry last year because he was a turnover machine, but this year he was so good. Was playing like a top D 2 way defenseman. He’s a late bloomer, he’s underrated

Yeah I watch many Habs games. He was taking advantage of the extra ice time when Weber was out, I like him on the PP too. I'm just not convinced, I hope I'm wrong though haha. I wouldn't say he's a top 2 D but a solid 2nd pairing Dman who brings experience. Definitely underrated, I agree.
