Montreal fan here. Was hoping Montreal would trade down.

15 OA being high enough in your opinion?

Maybe a prospect like Cale fleury could be added. I think a good team for this would be philly tho

Wings will trade ya our 3 second round picks & either your choice of helm.. glendening ..de la rose ..or peumpel to help your fwd depth since you likely seek that over another D depth player...for those draft picks you listed

I personally don’t think the canes would trade down for 3 seconds instead of 2. Maybe one of the seconds and the first for the 3

8 to 4 is so much different than 28 to 9. And you are referencing 2004 lol.

In 2008 NYI actually when from #9 to #5 and also needed to give up the #37, #40, and #68...as well as the #9.

If it takes the #37, #40, and #68 to move up (4) spots.... Imagine what it would take to move up (19) spots.

So to more specifically answer your question. To move from #28 to #9. I'd venture to guess you'd Need #28, #36, #37, The CAR 2020 1st protected and the Car 2020 2nd.

To me...it's kinda crazy to think this is close to value. (19) spots is no joke. It's why these trade never happen and we need to go back over 10 years for examples.

I thought Canes are overloaded on defense prospects. I could see Montreal willing to part with a forward prospect for sure. But defense is our prospect pool weakness.

I'd look to add a player with those picks actually, maybe a goalie. I don't think anyone in the top 15 would be looking to trade out of it except for Philadelphia (under specific circumstances) and Colorado. But you could get another player with any one of those picks. What's Carolina's biggest need?

As a Vancouver fan I would trade pick 10 for 28, 36 & 37.

NHL teams have draft value charts to determine value of trading up or down. There is different ways to do it but...the values are as followed

Pick 10- 565

Pick 28-283
Pick 36-217
Pick 37-213
Total value of- 713.

Now obviously trading into the top 10 is difficult so I would think Carolina would have to “give up” some value in order to make it happen. So my offer would be for 10th overall. I will make a separate post explaining why Vancouver should look to make a deal like this.
