Description
I still trust Chuckie, I still do, I still do, We aren't even close to being done yet, and I think he makes a run at Trouba. While making some additions to our offense. Might be unrealistic but this could very well be the opening night roster, it might be tough to add
trouba and keep ghost.

Trouba is a great young defenseman, but man this is a lot to give up for him just to pay him $8M a year.

I’d rather have Colin Miller at this point strictly based off of AAV and term tbh

I can see why. Trouba is not worth the $8-9M he will get on a long-term extension. Miller is a cost-effective (cap-wise) option that won't cost nearly as much in a trade. Braun is another interesting option

I just mocked up a team with Braun on the roster lol. I think hes an interesting option solely because he’s a vet RD who I bet could be had for very cheap

I think a Braun trade completely depends on the Karlsson situation, but I agree he probably won't cost much if Karlsson re-signs. I still think Fletcher should make a run at Spurgeon and get him with an extension, but that might cost more than Flyers fans would like...

Man I would love that trade for the Jets but I can't see it being that good of a return.

I haven't missed many Jets games since they returned to Winnipeg, Trouba is worth $6.75M. I am fully aware he'll get more but his actual worth is $6.75M, he's no Brent Burns.

Trouba wants out of Winnipeg so I doubt he would sign any offer sheet longer than one season. If you offer sheet Trouba with a multi year deal all Winnipeg has to do is match it and Trouba is staying Winnipeg.

The trade for Niskanen tells us that the price for Trouba was too high for Fletcher. He’s not gutting the pool or dealing high draft picks for him.

Provorov, Ghost, Sanheim, Niskanen, Myers, Hagg and Morin in some combination will be our blue line next season.

If we sign Hayes we need a 3RW and a backup goalie to finish the roster. Fletcher will have improved the on ice team and not risked the future to do it which should appeal to most fans.

Trouba might be the most overrated and over-valued player in the NHL!

I think it's hard to say Ratcliffe and Rubtsov are NHL ready - Ratcliffe hasn't played a pro game yet and Rubtsov managed 14 before a season ending injury.

It's also hard to see how in a draft for deal they manage to contact the Jets and Trouba to get him to sign an extension because that deal doesn't happen without the extension.

That said I don't hate it even though he's a bit more expensive than I'd like.

I think that Chuck is not done with our blue line, I think this is just the beginning, I think he will make a run for Trouba, he wants to be aggressive, I can see him pulling off a deal, Defense was the biggest issue last year Imagine
Provy-Trouba
Sanhiem-Nisky
Ghost- Myers
Now that is in the running for best D-Core in the league, and if he able to manage the cap correctly with the signing of our RFAs, we will still have money for a 3rd liner
