Binnington will never be in a better position to negotiate in his life. He managed a 24-5-1 record and .927 save percentage in 32 regular season games, but more importantly, he won them a cup. If Blues go fo arbitration, he checks all the boxes. In the end, he would be CRAZY to waste this opportunity to change his life forever. 5M is only a starting point. I'm guessing he gets 5x6M

Blues want a 1 year bridge deal so they keep him as an RFA to give him an even better deal next year.

Binnington has leverage now. He'd be crazy to wait another year and get injured. He'll not have as good leverage next year, he will never have. Why would Blues pay more next year? They are gonna have to pay now, if his agent is worth a dime

Yes. He bounced back both times with stellar performances. Since he entered the line-up STL has been a completely different team. They changed with him and never looked back. Don't take it from me, take it from Bob McKenzie. Binningtons is not going to be an easy sign

Because there is this player that happened named Hammond, and another thing called a fluke. 1-Year Bridge will make sure he is legit, and he would have a lot more leverage next year because he would have you know 50 games under his belt instead of 30. Can he be consistent throughout an entire season is the big question. Jordan Binnington has a mutual love of St.Louis as St.Louis loves him. Binnington isn't gonna play hardball with the Blues, and Blues won't play Hardball with Binnington. This isn't Erik Karlsson. Binnington loves St.Louis, so signing a 1-year deal so the Blues can buyout more years could get him 7+M so is it really so bad to not use "leverage" that he doesn't have on a 30 games season. Or is it better for him to wait and make more money next year.

Winnipeg he gave up 6 Goals in a game
Dallas he did solid
San Jose first game he gave up 6 Goals Game 4 he gave up 5 Goals
He gave 5 in Game 3 against Boston
He gave up 4 in Game 6 against Boston

It's not so simple to say "he has leverage" because he really doesn't when his consistent comes into question. That's why that 1-year deal would help him out Tremendously.

Bob McKenzie really doesn't know anything if he doesn't know Binnington.
Binnington loves St.Louis. He will sign a Bridge deal just so he can sign and even longer with even more money than before. It's buying out the UFA years is what this does.

The entire sportsworld seems to have others ideas, but given that you seem to be an authority on the subject I guess the rest of us are wrong

It's not that I don't believe you, but the entire world was saying Binnington was overrated until he won a cup....all this is, is everyone wanting Binnington to get all this money so Blues get screwed into a bad deal. Armstrong knows how to work his deal, and he will do it right.

Anyone can easily tell that this is photoshopped. Look at all the Sparks in the background. No respectable league would have that nonsense going on for real.

I don't think it's necessarily about screwing the Blue over. I like the Blues franchise. Just seems like the ideal time for him to secure his future without risks. Players generally want to secure their future. 1year deals seems like the thing you do when you want to bet on yourself as a player. How could he top 24-5-1 and a 16-win cup? His confidence has to be through the roof if he doesn't push for term now.

I think Berube will use a similar argument and get 5-6M.

He'll sign a two-year deal, closer to 5M. Book it.

He won't sign 2 it would be 1 year. Because next year he is still a RFA, if you sign him 2 years he would be a UFA.

Right, but you gotta give something to get something. The guy and his agent aren't dummies. Plus, we already will have enough big cogs to re-up next summer. No need to add yet another one.

we have over 18 Million in cap space based on the 83 Million cap space. all we have to re-up Schenn Pietrangelo Dunn that's it this year it's just Binnington, and we have enough for those deals.
