Horrible valuation of Gallagher there. Heck, if you can get a prime 30G scorer for a mild drop from 2nd to 3rd rd selection, trades would happen every day in the NHL. Gallagher's value would be that of a pick in the 6-10 range, but such trade wouldn't even happen in the first place as he's likely a Habs until his play drops.

Guess you were right for Karlsson.. reports he wanted to come back closer to Ott made me think he'd sign for lower numbers. As for Gallagher, you need the cap space, a second rounder and a potential kid is good given his salary hit and that he may not continue on the top 2 lines for much longer in another team. Not saying he's done, just saying these were just over the top moves that would change the face of the Habs.

Amended it to remove Karlsson since he's back in SJS.
