Description

If the cap comes in at 82m or under, it was a nice dream to get Gusev signed. But the status quo must be maintained, and they must improve with Stone leading them.

Chicago can play Haula up and down the lineup, and possibly flip him at the deadline for another asset. Miller gives the Blackhawks a speedy veteran PMD that they're seeking but at almost half the cost of a Jake Gardiner(who they've been rumored to be interested in).

Gusev gives the Hawks a tremendous X-factor that will give them the Russian talent they've been missing since trading Panarin.

I think the odds of trading away Joki just went from slim to none. Bowman might actually pair Joki with Maatta. They're finish teammates. About the only nice thing I can say about that trade...oh and Maatta's buyout is quite reasonable.

I do think there's a trade possibility there, though, something involving Mitchell or Krys for a lesser return.

Sometimes the sum of the parts are greater than the whole. Seabs role would shift dramatically. He'd completely give up any offensive responsibilities and he's still the most physical dman the Hawks have. I actually think it would be a great 3rd pair. It's not like Seabs would be playing 19 min a game.

None of this makes sense. VGK is not getting value in the trade. And Chicago isn't giving up Joker. You underpaid almost everyone, but overpaid Belle. And you better be all in on Sub if you are giving away Dansk.
