No Stamkos

Description
As exciting as it would be to add a player of Steven Stamkos' pedigree...I just think it would be crippling to the Sabres rebuild. There are lots of other ways to go about it. I don't see Tim Murray going for a "quick fix". In my opinion, it would end in disaster...quick.

    LW-C Mike Hoffman
    OTT
    1. Pysyk, Mark
    Additional Details:
2016 3rd round pick (76 via MIN from FLA)

Ottawa seems concerned about paying Hoffman his money. Pysyk is cheap depth, who still has lots of potential. Could turn into a real nice 3/4 dman.
    2.
    ANA
    1. Girgensons, Zemgus
    Additional Details:
    2016 3rd round pick (86 from DAL)

Anaheim is loaded on the back end and needs to start making room for some of their young studs. Having to pay both Vatanen and Lindholm, combined with a need for forward depth could make this an enticing trade for them. Buffalo is looking for a PP qb and Fowler could be that, plus log some decent minutes. His mobility is another big asset.

      2017 4th round pick
      EDM
      1. Franson, Cody
      Additional Details:
Oilers need RH dmen. Franson is a decent player who can manage a PP.

You're going to have to add more value to both the OTT and ANA deals. Hoffman is a very good offensive piece that has proved he can score goals in a league that struggles with that; while I agree Pysyk is good, him and a 3rd aren't enough. Fowler is a top-4 guy who will most likely be with Risto on our top pairing. You can't get him for a middle-doc forward and a 3rd

Yeah I don't know. Anaheim is gonna be tight to the cap...you could tack on a few more picks...maybe a Carrier type prospect. But I think it's less than you think. Addition by subtraction for ANH cap-wise, and filling a need at the same time. In terms of OTT, again, they are being cap-conscious. If they aren't wanting to sign a young, nearly 30-goal scorer, what are you gonna give them? There D is high-priced now...again, addition by subtraction.
