Just messing around

Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 29, 2019
Published: Jun. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If your criticisms don’t come with an insult, they will be viewed as invalid.
I just wanted to see if I could get the numbers to work. There’s enough cap left to get 1 or 2 ‘Ennis’ type reclamation projects if the bottom 6 seems too sketchy, and even though Holl is listed as the 7th, I’d assume Sandin or Lils gets the call-up in case of injury (Looking at you Chris).

Was the Colin Miller deal for cap purposes? As I feel he could be acquired for a second and like fourth round pick. His value isn't all that high right now.

I like the added size on 4th line with the ability for Petan to step in when needed for extra speed.

Have you smegged off the deep end you smegghread. Toronto doesn't need to add Bracco if they are taking back a guy like Eaves. And no way am I touching Tanev for anything other than picks conditional on playoff appearances.

It probably is an over-pay for Miller. Balance with a pick or two as you see fit. I was more interested in getting the roster together than in trade values.

With that in mind, the one exception I would take is to the Kapanen contract. I think he gets over $3M.

I based it off the EvolvingWild (think that’s what it’s called?) contract predictor. They had it as 2x$2.2m

Well, that's certainly an intelligent approach. But the consensus here is that Toronto is going to have to offer him over $3M to ward off an offer sheet. We'll see!

Yeah, probably. I did try to leave wiggle room in the cap regardless.

I get it, but 1) I’d rather overpay in proposals (though I have no idea how the value looks in the VAN trade), and 2) I understand every reservation about Tanev, but since it’s only 1yr, the risk seems minimal. Worst case, you can plan on his inevitable injuries as a chance to get Sandin and/or Lils into the rotation.
