Doesn't anybody else think that with his injury history and the way he seemed to slow down during this year's playoffs that in three years, he might be as unable to perform as Henrik Zetterberg?

it's a massive gamble and Doug Wilson is a risk-taker. I sense the organization believes that without EK65 on the team, their window is closed.

Also, if EK65 is signed for $11.45 million per year for 8 years, that leaves $12,592,583 left for next season in cap space. Definitely committed and locked in now.

Timo Mier will be looking for 7/8 x 6/7 as well, SJ could be in cap trouble very quickly

Yes, I had already predicted that if they didn't sign EK, they would have good odds in the Lafreniere sweepstakes. Now that he's back, we'll see how they go. With Anaheim improving and Arizona not likely to suffer as many injuries next season as last, the Sharks my be in a fight for a playoff spot anyway.
