I'll be honest, I first read that VGK trade as Mark Stone for a 5th and was mighty confused

I expect the Wild would want a decent pick along with those guys for Zucker, especially with retention.

Neal is better than Lucic at this point, so not sure where the incentive is for the Flames to take on that steaming pile of a contract. The Oilers would have to add a fair bit of sweetener to that deal. Plus Lucic costs a protection slot for the expansion draft thanks to his NMC. No thanks!

I don't think Vegas can afford Stone unless the Flames retain half. I think they just bring Engelland back for one more year instead and wait until Stone is UFA to reunite the brothers.

It would be weird to see Pavelski in a Flames jersey, but it's an interesting thought as he's the right shot goal scorer the Flames are really missing from their lineup. I don't think a 3 x $6M gets him here though.

Don't like a two year deal for Smith, but that might be what it takes to get his AAV to where you have it.

Why go through all that trouble to win a cup when you could go buy one at your local hardware store?
