How the Sharks Keep Pavelski Meier and Labanc

Created by: CheechYou
Team: 2019-20 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 17, 2019
Published: Jun. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nyquill can't fit. Mayyybe Donkey can. But we'll go conservative and say he can't.

The Meier and Labanc deals are going to bridge deals. No amount of salt from opposing fans is going to be enough to stop this reality.

Nah, I don't care what anyone on this board says - until I see the lineups this fall I don't and won't believe either of the Chwins or Merkley makes the line-up.

You low balled Meier and have a bad backup and are still 1.4M over the cap

Over the cap and I think both of those contracts for LaBanc and Meier are tough sells. Maybe one takes a minor discount bridge but not both

So they're going to do this by forfeiting every game because they're over the salary cap?

And $3.8m for Meier is laughable. He might get double that in an offer sheet if he's not signed by July 1.

Forget Pavelski and Thornton, give Lebanc and Meier proper money and you are fit to go.

Hawks offer sheet Meier at 6m. Take the 1st and 3rd in 2020. Payback for offer sheeting Hjalmarsson.

I think there's a good chance for that happening too. But where I differ from most fans is that I think he's the last of the expendables to go, in that Dillon will be the first cap casualty, followed by Dell, and then Melker, and finally Braun if need be. They're going to prioritize him but at the end of the day, they're going to need that space so yeah he'll be gone too if the Timo/Kevin bridge deals don't work.

I think Dell and Melker are gone, throw in Braun too. Pay Pavs 6.5 mil, Jumbo 1 mil (which he might take, money doesn't seem to be the issue for him), timo 5 mil, and lebanc 3 mil.

Getting rid of Dell is pretty major, hes not a backup that seems to push Jones. Need some young backup that is cheap and can challenge Jones to play his best.
