Sharks match for Timo. Only way I see them not matching is if it's for 7mil+, both for cap reasons and also to get that extra 2nd at least with it being more than the 6.341mil requirement to get the extra 2nd.

That's one part of it, but also if the deal is for maybe 7.5mil or higher I can see the Sharks potentially saying no and taking the picks and saving the cap.

The problem is the Sharks are going to have one hell of time signing Leblanc, Nyquist, Joe P, and Timo...there's no way it all can happen without exposing someone like Timo to offer sheets.

That's how we got Niemi, maybe this is your way of getting a guy like Nyquist by forcing the Sharks to pay a full deal for Meier instead of their plan to try and get him (and Bancer) down to a bridge deal like Hertl/Nieto did a few years back.
