I think the trade is a bit much. As for the rest, I would love Pavelski if he would sign for that. 4 years brings Carlo right to UFA without buying out any years, and I kind of doubt McAvoy would sign that.

what do you think Mcavoy gets? Yeah the redwings trade probably could be done with just krug and prospect(s) back to the drawing board.

I more just meant that the notion of trading Krejci is just a bit too far out there in my opinion. My guess is that McAvoy probably bridges. He can get 4 years and remain an RFA unlike Carlo, so I think that's possible. If it's 8 years I think 8.5 minimum.

Also think he bridges. I just don’t know half of me says sell high on Krejci half says ride it out like very split on it.

If Pavelski is willing to sign that contract then he stays in SJ and does it there.

I agree, thats far to much for Mantha, wingers dont have the value defenceman have, tho Krug is older. Also Pavelski will probably get the modern version of the marleau contract if not more, 7/8 mil on a shorter term

well, few issues there.
1. Their window is open. Name a better center to play the second line that they can go get to replace Krejci. (I'll save you the trouble, they can't upgrade there)
2. He has a motified NTC, I think he has to submit a list of 15 teams that he'll accept a trade to. Might be fewer.
3. People used to think of the contract as bad, but he put up 70 points this year. 7.25 million for a 70 point center is actually really good. Duchene is about to get like 9 or 10 million and his career high is 70 points, and most of his seasons are in the 40s or 50s.
4. He's been vocal that after his contract is over he intends to return to europe. As an opposing GM, that would make me nervous that I would trade for the guy and he'd say screw it, I'm not going there, I'm just heading back to europe and earning a similar amount.

Fair enough. I would say pavs is better but I get where you are coming from. You are also correct it’s a 15 team list. Appreciate the convo
