I know it's probably far too little or they'd match but I thought it was amusing if we offer-sheeted both players :P

You'd think. If there aren't offer sheets going around from July 1st considering the players who might be available I'd think the players will kick up a fuss in the next CBA talks. They're designed as a way to help younger players earn what they're worth but if there's a league side consensus to not make use of offer sheets players can (and should) argue it's unfairly effecting their earnings in their prime years.

SJS matches Meier and lets Labanc go. Also Arizona says no to that trade.

If they match that for Meier (which I figure they would anyway) they're gone have $6m to sign about 6 players presumably including Thornton...

Arizona is looking for so veteran offence, I don't think it's such a ridiculous deal.

Well look at Arizona’s cap situation. You want them to give up Kuemper, a guy who when Raanta was out with injury kept them in the conversation for the playoffs almost until game 70 for s guy who makes 7M more just for some veteran leadership? Oh and don’t forget the top 15 pick. Yea sorry no Arizona passes.

Eventually someone has to score points. Even in a bad year Voracek got 66 points, that would have led all Arizona players by 19 points. Meh, the Flyers could throw in a 2019 second or a prospect goalie. The essence of there, I'm sure they aren't planning to have their starting goalie hurt all season again.

Kessel is cheaper, more productive and he actually wants to play for Arizona. Add all you want Arizona says no for a guy making over 8M

Could have both with Hossa on LITR and some money going back to the Pens.
