Description

Edler's is basically Jeff Petry but left handed, habs gotta find a way to land him. He would help the powerplay immensely, his career high is 22 PP pts, although he was on pace for 25 PP pts last year. He can QB a powerplay and he would probably be MTL's most valuable player for that unit. Give him two one timer options in Weber and Tatar, Danault and Gallagher are the options down low. The line of Lehkonen/Domi/Shaw are interchangeable with Tatar/Danault/Gallagher.

The 2nd powerplay unit would be run through Drouin, with Petry and KK also up top for shots from the point and one timers. Poehling and Weal will be down low.

Edler can also kill penalties, he is physical and can skate. He does it all, and has played 24 minutes / game for years in Vancouver. He can handle top minutes with Weber.

Contract also includes a NMC.

Protected list would be Weber, Edler, Mete. Petry is a UFA. Fluery, Juulsen and Kulak will be exposed.

Edit:
Lines are essentially exactly what they were at the end of last season. Lehkonen-Domi-Shaw, Tatar-Danault-Gallagher stayed together. Reunited Byron-KK-Armia, that was probably the most common line for KK last year, Drouin didn't work out there. The new line is Drouin-Poehling-Weal. Which was Deslauriers-Poehling-Weal in the last game of the year. So essentially the only line change I made was Byron for Drouin, Drouin for Deslauriers.
