I have no problem trading Nurse but I am not sold on the return being Nylander.

he's locked up long term on a decent contract, young and skilled that could use a fresh start after the crap he went through this past year. plus the worlds this year showed the Nylander is a damn good player that can keep up with a strong supporting cast. Toronto needs a solid dman and oilers need a top 6 winger. IDK any other teams that have a top6 winger open for trade like toronto does

That may be true but I would call up a few other teams and see what else could be available. Two teams I can think of are the Jets and the Blue Jackets. If Laine gets close to the 10M he is reportedly asking they will need to trade a forward, I would ask for Conner. If the Blue Jackets go into a full rebuild then I would see if Atkinson is available. I would rather have one of them over Nylander.

last i checked, nurse for nylander is fair deal in terms of value and the pick is there because unlike nurse, Nylander is already tied up Long term and is younger. nurse needs a payday that will probably be too rich for edm. Look at the depth chart and its clear to see the oilers are rich with young dmen that can fill up roster spots for cheap. Allowing for more spending to be allocated to a capable goalie that can split 50/50 with koskinen.

This trade is a Young Top4 D for a legit Top 6 winger. UNlike the hall for larsson deal where it was a top25 forward in the NHL for a mid-level top4 Dman.

I'd recommend you look at the needs of the team and its depth chart before throwing the Chia-bomb
