they actually wanted rask's contract? lol

(I knew it wouldn't be both brodin and zucker, just figured one of those two had involvement)

they might have seen him as a useful 3C or someone they could limit the tough competition against. Or just an equal contract to be able to move Johnson. You really think Minnesota wanted Jack Johnson?

Initially Zucker and Rask for Kessel and Johnson, but later it was reported that there could be a 1 for 1 swap, Zucker for Kessel (both came from The Athletic writers). I'm glad Kessel said no, we need to get younger and adding him is the complete opposite of doing that.

Not sure where you 2 are getting this from, almost every media and rumor site reporting this said JJ and Rask were just speculation

the only two confirmed pieces were Kessel and Zucker

It was actually from the Bob Father himself, I was mistaken. This isn't a verified account, but you can find the quote on his podcast 2 weeks ago and hear it from the horse's mouth.

Not sure mis-reading my post or if you're just agreeing with me now.

You are correct, I misread. But I do have a source for the JJ and Rask swap, it was the Pens beat writer at the Athletic, Josh Yohe.

"The Penguins and Wild also discussed a couple of players with long-term contracts in Jack Johnson and Victor Rask."

But this was when the rumors started to surface.
