Sens have nothing to lose here. Carter is a name that might help attract seats. Kings retain some salary, and he helps them get closer to the cap floor. They also have nothing to lose cap wise, as the recapture penalties if he retires go to LA. Sens also clear up the jam at 5-7 D man. Don't forget, when he's healthy, Carter is an extremely serviceable top 6 center

Kings get more picks, and a really nice prospect who plays their style of game. Take on Callahan but it really doesn't matter because of the additional pieces. Also make a roster spot by getting rid of clifford

Lightning can now sign Point with cap room saved here. Also get a pick upgrade for giving up Katchouk, and a serviceable bottom 6 guy in Clifford, who has Cup experience.

Kings are desperate here and blackhawks don'T need another defenseman with all their youth (Boqvist, Jokiharu, Maatta, Gustafsson). Hawks take advantage of the desperation by acquiring 2 first rounders, one being the fifth pick. With this pick, the Hawks have the choice to basically do whatever they want. They could decide to trade down for more assets, select a center like Dach or Turcotte or Zegras, or go with a Podkolzin or Claufield. They also could end up with a defenseman like Broberg or Soderstrom with their next first rounder (Leafs) anyway.
