The valuation here sounds about right to me. Flyers get more help at D, and SJ gets some picks they need. Works for both.

I'm saying the Sharks won it, but barely. Really, only because SJ was in a TOUGH spot and Fletcher definitely helped them out with the #41 pick this year. PHI has the cap to take him for 1 year...and really they'll just let him go next year...or flip him @ the TDL if for some reason they don't play well next year. It allows for 2 vets to roll of the books each of the next 2 years giving room to sign other d prospects. He's a pretty good Dman. Just because he doesn't score goals doesn't mean he he can't eat up 20 min a game.

Had a bad season and was out of his usual top 4 role with EK there, hes usually a solid shutdown Dman capable of matching up against anyone

SJS just signed a defenseman with a career -30 to an $11.5M contract for 8 years... maybe +/- isnt the only stat?

Interesting, Flyers stocking up on a ton of defensemen. Sharks do get cap relive though.

Seriously Fletcher...WTF are you doing? You give up a 2nd and a 3rd to a cap strapped team for a guy with 1 year left on his contract...are you fking mental?

It’s understandable why he had a low plus minus because he was on Ottawa This Guy was on the 6th best Team in the League and has still a -14

"With Braun on the ice at 5-on-5 over the last three Seasons, San Jose has been out-Corsied 3,958-3,613 and outscored 168-134."

Very good deal, for SJ

Looks like an overpayment by Philly. The MacDonald buyout must have had something to do with this though. I didn't think they needed the cap space when they bought out AMac but I had a feeling they were looking to add to their roster and might eventually need the cap space.

For the Sharks, however, I think it's a good deal. Braun is a good defenseman but this is a cap deal for them. And also, they get a good return back. I don't think he's worth a 2nd+3rd.

Also, am I the only one who has noticed that the Flyers have basically made 3 trades and a buyout this offseason? One of the trades was during the SCF but still basically the offseason because the Flyers were out.

I mean OTT did make it to the finals once and his +/- isn't any good with SJ either. If you don't think Braun is any good...ok, but it's not because of his +/-. I'll even agree that extreme outliers for +/- can tell a broader vague picture, but it's such a subjective stat. I don't think it has any bearing here. Just 1 mans opinion.
