This looks so damn brutal. The scary thing is that it also looks realistic.

Risto is a 4 time 40 point scorer on an affordable contract... He has the 22nd best PPG of any defensemen in the NHL. He is worth more than a 1st rd bust and a 2nd rounder with a very above average defensemen as a sweetener.

You could get Bogo for Virtanen with some picks to equal it out but Woo is not worth Risto. For Risto it would have to be like Risto for Horvat as the basis from our perspective. We only would move Risto for top 6 forward proven help.

This is an interesting proposal, I like the prospect of Woo, but I'm not sure that Vancouver and Buffalo are good trading partners, our teams need to fill approximately the same positions.

Risto is one of the worst defensive players in the league. I'm not sure Virtanen, Woo and a 2nd is the right package but it's not too far off. Personally I think that's a better return than what Trouba just got, and he's a better player than risto.

Bogo for Virtanen and Risto for Horvat? LOL!! You must have had a bit too much to drink or smoked weed before you wrote that.

Then why are you wanting to trade your best defensive prospect besides Hughes/Juolevi and a 2nd rounder for one of the worst defensive players in the league?

Because, he's an excellent offensive Dman and PP guy, plus RHS. All things that the nucks need

His name is Jim Benning and he is just as bad if not worse!

Trust me no one is worse than Murray. Here is a quick recap:
Drafts:
2014 Draisaitl was taken directly after Reinhart, none his other 8 picks have made an impact in the NHL (Lemieux has 13 NHL goals and Olofsson may make it the NHL)
2015 Other than Eichel none of his other 5 picks have made an impact (Guhle may eventually but was traded so Buffalo will receive nothing for him)
2016 Sergachev was taken directly after Nylander, none his other 9 picks have made an impact in the NHL
Trades:
2nd for Gorges
McCabe and 2 seconds for Fasching and Deslauriers
Pysyk for Kulikov
Myers for Bogosian
A third for the rights to an unproven college player Vesey, by contrast it only cost a 5th to have the rights to Hayes.
A first for Lehner and taking cap dump Legwand. At the time of the trade Lehner was the Sens #3 GK. By contrast Talbot (who at the time was the most coveted GK) was traded for a 2nd and 3rd. Let me add, I find it hard to believe that Murray did not know that Lehner had emotional issues since Murray had just come from the Senators organization.
Missed trades:
LAK offered first, third, Pearson, and Green for Moulson and Ehrhoff, Ehrhoff was bought out and Moulson returned 2 seconds
BOS offered 2 seconds for Chris Stewart he settled for on second.
mishandled the cap, by signing and trading for the following:
Matt Moulson $25,000,000 for 5 years
Brian Gionta $12,750,000 for 3 years
Andrej Meszaros $4,125,000 for 1 year
Cody McCormick $4,500,000 for 3 years,
Prior to that gave up a 2nd for Josh Gorges who had 4 years remaining on a $3,900,000/year. So he gave up a second and wasted over $18,550,000 cap.
How many draft picks could he have earned if had picked up draft picks for over $74,000,000 of cap space? I could imagine up to 3 first round picks.
He drafted poorly, traded poorly, mishandled the cap, insulted the NHL, insulted other managers.
Benning has a long way to be as bad as Murray.
