Oh yeah absolutely, we shouldn't be retaining any salary for Hagg, albeit 50% is not really much, it just doesn't make sense.

hagg isnt worth a 2nd even with retained salary, and the retained salary does make sense so the Jets can clear space to sign Laine, to be fair this pick could be a 4th or 3rd maybe.

24 year old dman with 153GP under his belt at $575k isn't worth a 2nd? He never developed the offensive side to his game but he hits and blocks a lot of shot. I'm not trading him at half off for a 5th round pick.
