What do PhillyLeaf Fans think of this trade

Created by: CaptainTavares
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 18, 2019
Published: Jun. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Thoughts on this trade for both teams?

Assuming Hayes spurns the flyers of course. Leafs need a young NHL ready RHD and would need a third line centre to fill Kadri's vacancy.

Leafs could get both in this deal, and Philly gets the second line centre that had hoped to get in Hayes on a cheaper contract.

Philly laugh this away, Laughton and Myers are both cost controlled for a team who's about to resign Provorov. This makes little sense for them to make said deal

Also meant to mention in the description with the acquisition of Braun and Niskanen maybe they would be more inclined to do this deal to get a centre.

I get the fact that he is valued high, but I am sure Myers could be traded for the right return.

They clearly desire a centre, acquiring the rights to Hayes, if he were to spurn them, they may be looking elsewhere. The re-signing of Provorov is still a factor with the rights to Hayes being acquired, Kadri will come in cheaper if they strike out. I am not so sure Philly would "laugh it away", maybe some other parts would need to be added, just looking for feedback. Thanks.

Makes little sense? Right now they're trying to sign Hayes and he's reportedly asking north of $6.5M and Kadri only makes $4.5M for better production. Philly also just traded for 2 RHD so Myers could very well be available. And Laughton is a career bottom 6 player which are easily replaceable. ... seems to make a lot more sense when you break things down actually

Value wise, it makes a ton of sense. I recently posted the exact same offer except Toronto received a 2nd round pick as well and I don't think that's out of the question.

Logic wise, it still makes a ton of sense if Philly misses out on Hayes. They're clearly looking for a 2C and Kadri produces more than Hayes and is cheaper. Some Flyers fans on here are high all the time and think Myers is an untouchable and some kinda god (he's not). He's a B prospect. A future 2nd pairing guy if all works out. But he's still a prospect. Kadri's value is right around a B prospect and a 2nd (possibly a 1st depending who the team is) so squeezing in in Laughton who is a career bottom 6 player isn't out of the question.

You're pretty close all around, despite what some Flyers fans will say around here.

Myers is a potentially a top D guy. Laughton is a poor man’s Kadri but younger. You could at least throw in one of your RHD prospects, but even then I don’t see Fletcher accepting. Fletcher also said he really liked Myers, as a piece of the Flyers young D Corp.

Not saying it's bad value but Fletcher is really high on him.

Value isn't bad, just don't think Fletcher deals him since he's nhl ready and our only potential young top 4 RHD.

Yeah I knew the value was ok, would be a good trade for both teams. However, Fletcher just gave Hayes a laughable contract, so this is a moot point now. I guess Fletcher is not as smart as flyers fans seem to think. I still would have liked this deal for both teams, Myers would be a great second pairing guy and Laughton a third line centre. Myers was overrated because of the way he shoots, the MO of this site.
