What can brown do for you

Created by: Bcarlo25
Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 18, 2019
Published: Jun. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Leaving room for another significant addition.
Brown for Backes. Neither team wants the player, Brown is certainly better, but Brown has the extra year. Trade happens after July 1st, Bruins pay 16.5 to Brown and Kings pay 5 million to Backes. Bruins add a 2nd round pick kicker.
McAvoy: As a group 1 he cannot sign an offer sheet, and he has 4 years left as an RFA. a 2 year deal gets him out of group 1, and gets him arbitration rights. Very player friendly term, team friendly cap. Similar to Subban's second contract, but even more player friendly term as Subban wasn't a group 1. Krug signed off his entry as a group one after a 40 point season for 1.4 million for reference. McAvoy will kill the bruins on his next contract.
Carlo: go long term with him. Once he starts putting up points, he'll be asking for a lot more.
Coyle: Extends 4x4
Grzelcyk: Extends 4 years x 4.5 million.

Keep cap hits small, pay for it on the next deal, but by then the Bergeron window will be closed.

I like the idea of trading Backes for Brown maybe add a young winger on Boston's side like Kuhlman or Celharik. But Brown had 51 pts last year and 61 the year before that, he is a power forward that would fit well on Krejci's right wing IMO.

that's fair. He won't be a tough contract to move though.

I guess I just dont see the reason for LA to make that trade. Brown can still play and its not like moving him is saving them all that much money in the long run and for a pick thats probably in mid to late 20s in the second round. I think you need to give them something they need.

11.5 million dollars and a second round pick.

11.5 million dollars.

that and that in 2 years when they might actually be ready to compete again, they're saying 5.85 million against the cap.

I honestly debated bumping it down to a 3rd. 11.5 million dollars is kind of a big deal in a rebuild.

ok so say LA wants to save the money I get that , sell on a guy who isn't going to help in the future. I disagree about the player is all I guess. His value based on age and 5.8 for 3 more years is a little scary but hes been productive so he isn't exactly a complete cap dump. I wonder if they could just retain 1 mil on him and get a 2nd rounder and not have to take backes in return. i wouldn't mind the player im just not sure about the deal.

IMO Brown still adds a lot of value they could trade him and his money taking back a similar contract and prospects or picks. Which is what I think LA will be doing they need a rebuild or retool in some form and he is a player that by moving him could help that.

oh so now you're saying that the Bruins could have pulled off a 2 year deal at 3M for McAvoy and you are saying that the current deal isn't already a steal? am I getting something wrong here because a 2 year deal at 3 doesn't seem that likely for someone like McAvoy. Also, you were also the one talking that Carlo should have gotten at least 5 on a 6 year deal, doesn't this seem contradictory

Let me give you a piece of advice. When you pull that shtick of saying, “so you’re saying....” and then say something completely different from what the person was saying, you’re going to sound like a moron. Yes, you are getting something wrong here. Pretty much every word. Stop saying what I was allegedly saying because you’re wrong literally every single time. I’ve always said that 5 years would be an awful term for Carlo, I have said that I thought chychrun’s contract was a good comparable. Is that what you’re thinking? Man, you do a good job of digging yourself in a hole.

now now, lets not go ad hominem on every single aspect as to what you are doing here is nothing but fallacy. But even if I take your words for it, 1. I have never seen you compare chychrun's deal to Carlo's deal. 2. the two are very different players and in 2 very different situations. 3. I've never solely mentioned 5 years but 5 years or more. Its very funny how you told me that I am wrong on every aspect of my thinking and never explained. If you never explain, well, we could easily be arguing on different wavelengths but its apparent to me that you have no idea how to defend your thoughts as you simply rebutted by saying I was wrong. Sure I was wrong, you are even worse.

The only thing i said you were wrong about was when, in one post you said, “you said this, and you said that, and you were saying this and you were saying that,” and were wrong about every single one of them. Of course you haven’t seen me use Chychruns deal as a comparable for Carlo, you’ve listed about a dozen things that ive posted and have been dead wrong on every single one of them. Just give up man.
