This is actually scary

Created by: Caps_Man
Team: 2019-20 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 18, 2019
Published: Jun. 18, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
They may not have chosen the best options for spending cap this offseason (ie Nisky and Braun), but on paper this is one of the more dangerous teams in the metro. Should be fun to play against them

Provorov is the only top pairing D man on the team, finding the right partner for him will be a problem. Niskanen and Braun are not top pair D men, hence why they were so easy to acquire.

I also don't know if Hayes is a good fit, especially at that price. JVR and Voracek are already overpaid 2nd liners, adding another is just redundant. He loves to overpay UFAs (Parise, Suter, and now Hayes in Philly)

I dont get why people are bashing the Flyers so much. Ya they made some questionable moves and contract signings, but they have a lot of talent at every position

And Hayes has never put up the numbers Parise had, imagine Hayes' decline in 3 years.

Wow the flyers offensive core was legit why the hell sign a 27 years old guy with one season over 50 pts + the guy has not played in their system so it might just not work.
Voracek-Giroux-Couturier-JVR-Konecny-Patrick + frost and farabee if you have too overpaid why not overpaid in defense ???

I agree they should've used assets to go after a top pair RD. Niskanen and Braun are not top pair guys.

They're too top heavy, Fletcher is molding them just like he did with the Wild.

Idk if voracek has regressed to 2nd liner yet, hes still amazing, even if he had a subpar year, the flyers as a whole did

This team isnt top heavy the 3rd pair will be one of ghost/sanheim and myers which is nuts and the top 9 is full of top 6 or potential top 6 forwards, not to mention a full season of hart

Giroux is the only true line driver on this team, I think they will struggle with secondary scoring 5V5.

Oh no. 2C was our biggest need. Narrative outside the area is a different thing entirely.

Yeah, this is another case where people who don't follow the Flyers just don't know how it's been going here. Coots is the biggest play driver 5v5. He has been our best player for at least 2 years now, Giroux's comeback year 2 seasons back notwithstanding. That was made possible by playing on Coots' wing.

Coots is a play driver but doesn't have the most points on his line? Not sure I follow you there.

When you said line driver, I translated that to mean possession metrics, not point totals.
